hochzeitsreportage in Basel, echte emotionen. EINgefangen von Chris Milla Photography

The process

Preliminary meeting:

Before your big day, we take the time to discuss your visions, wishes, and ideas. In a personal meeting, we get to know each other better, clarify all the details, and lay the foundation for a trusting collaboration.

Image Delivery:

After editing, you’ll receive a curated selection of the best images. Depending on the length of the reportage, the number of edited photos can range from 300 to 1,000. I upload them to a beautiful download cloud, where you and your guests can access them. This way, everyone can view and download the photos from anywhere. The gallery is password-protected.

Second photographer:

You can also book my second photographer to ensure that no moment is missed. This way, we can capture your wedding from different perspectives and offer you an even wider selection of photos.

Custom Offer:

If, for example, you want to get married during the week, I’m happy to create a custom offer for you. I can also design a wedding album or order prints of your favorite images. Additionally, you can book a highlight film for €800. Please note that during the high season (summer), weekends are reserved for full wedding reportage (7–12 hours).

Wedding couple photoshoot:

The couple’s photoshoot is a highlight of the day. Together, we choose the setting to create special shots of you. I make sure not to stress you while still capturing moments in my personal style.

After Wedding Shooting:

For couples who want to create additional special memories after their wedding, I offer an after-wedding shoot. In a relaxed atmosphere, we take more pictures without the time pressure of the wedding day.

This also means you don't have to separate yourselves from society.

Directions:

Travel up to 80 km from my home in Müllheim, Baden is included in the total price. Beyond that, it's €20 per 30 km.

For weddings abroad, a flat fee of €1500 covers flights, hotel, and rental car. Whether your wedding takes place at an idyllic finca in Tuscany, Sardinia, Mallorca, or Puglia, I will accompany you wherever you go.

Any Questions?

WEDDING TIPS & TRICKS

Phone Photographers:

A good solution, in my opinion, could be the following: The officiant could ask the guests before the ceremony begins to put their phones on airplane mode, but not to turn them off yet. Then, when you are both at the front, the guests can take a few photos of you with their phones at the beginning of the ceremony. After everyone has taken their shots, it would be great if all phones are kept in pockets or bags for the rest of the ceremony. I’ve seen an officiant manage it this way before, and I thought it was a really well-handled approach.

Funy Games:

Game 1: For this game, set up 12 chairs. A host selects 12 volunteers. Music starts, and the participants must find a given object—lighter, shoes, pocket knife, etc. (The objects get progressively harder). Whoever returns last and doesn’t get a chair loses, draws a lot, and fulfills a task for the couple the following year. One chair is then removed, and the game repeats with a new object.

Game 2: Teams of two players are formed. A balloon is tied to the men’s ankle with a short string. The couples must dance together while trying to pop the balloons of the other players. The team whose balloon remains intact until the end wins the game.

You’re the Star:

You might want to ask the priest if it’s possible for them to already be at the altar when you walk in. It looks much nicer in the photos when only the two of you are visible during the entrance and exit. For a non-religious ceremony, you can ask the officiant to stand slightly to the side, rather than directly in front of or behind you during the ring exchange. Otherwise, a stranger might constantly appear between you in the photos of your most beautiful moments.

If You Do It, Do It Right:

When choosing a photo booth, it’s worth making sure that the props aren’t just small cardboard pieces in a single style, but ideally carnival-style items. Large plastic glasses, wigs, handcuffs, and similar props make a huge difference—like night and day. They also create a much more playful and humorous atmosphere.

Colorful Umbrellas & Sails:

It’s advisable to check with your venue whether the umbrellas or sun sails have a specific color, or ideally, are white. Colored umbrellas often create a less flattering and awkward lighting effect. White umbrellas or sun sails reflect light more neutrally, helping to create a more pleasant and atmospheric setting. By asking in advance, you can ensure that the lighting at your venue supports the desired mood perfectly.

Tricky LED Lights

Using LED lights at a wedding can sometimes be problematic, as they often produce harsh colors and unflattering lighting conditions. The intense colors can create a somewhat uncomfortable atmosphere and affect the overall quality of the light. Therefore, it may be better to choose light sources that produce warmer and softer light, ensuring a more pleasant and atmospheric illumination during the celebration. And I don’t mean this just from a photographer’s perspective.

What is the price of a professional wedding photographer

The cost of a professional wedding photographer can vary greatly depending on the region, timing, and experience of the photographer. On average, prices range between €1,000 and €4,000 for a full wedding reportage. Most packages already include several hours of photography, a certain number of edited images, and an online album. Additional services, such as a second photographer or a professional wedding album, may come at an extra cost. A good wedding photographer is not only skilled technically but also able to capture special moments and tell an emotional story. Therefore, it’s usually worth investing a bit more in an experienced photographer to ensure beautiful memories of your day.

Addressing Questions and Concerns About Choosing the Right Wedding Photographer

Portfolio and Style:

Every wedding photographer has an individual style. Some prefer classic elegance, while others take a modern, documentary approach. Find a photographer whose style matches your wedding concept.

Prices and Packages:

Ein professioneller Fotograf sollte transparente Preise haben, ohne versteckte Gebühren. Klärt im Voraus, was im Paket enthalten ist, um unangenehme Überraschungen zu vermeiden.

Experience:

An experienced photographer brings not only technical expertise but also the ability to handle unexpected situations. Knowing that your photographer can manage any eventuality gives you greater peace of mind.

Check Availability:

Ask about the photographer’s availability for your wedding date well in advance. Popular photographers can be booked out long before the season starts.

References:

Check the reviews and references from other couples who have worked with the photographer. This provides insight into client satisfaction and the photographer’s working style.

Contract/Agreement:

Read the contract carefully and clear up any uncertainties. Make sure that all services and terms are documented in writing to avoid misunderstandings.
